About our high legibility font

In order to aid all readers, we have created a high-legibility typographic font, with the help of designers, psychologists and learning disorders experts, taking into consideration the needs of children and teenagers with reading difficulties.

Since we offer our biancoenero typeface standard version for free for non-commercial use, our font is used by more than4000 schoolsteacherstherapists, and in general by people with reading difficulties for their private documents. Moreover, the biancoenero® typeface is used by the main Italian Educational publishing houses for their books: Rizzoli EducationMondadori EducationGiuntiSanomaLattesAtlas. Our font was recently purchased byGarzanti and the Battello a vapore brand for fiction books as well.

In 2024 we expanded the biancoenero font by adding all the Latin Extended A glyphs, so now it is possible to write with it in more than 300 languages and to transliterate from Russian, Japanese, Swahili and many more; we have also added new type wights, in addition in addition to the Regular and the Bold, the Regular Plus and the Semi Boldare now available, alongside their respective italics.

We strongly believe that using our font in your texts could be of use in improving their legibility; the font is perfectly suitable for both printed words and for screen usage for the web, and can be very useful in view of the European Accessibility Act, that will become effective in 2025 and that will compel businesses to update their websites and e-commerce o that they are usable also by people with reading difficulties and disabilities.
